![]() Her clinical experiences include work as a registered nurse and as a physician's assistant.įayetteville State University is a constituent institution of The University of North Carolina System and the second-oldest public institution of higher education in the state, having been founded in 1867. She also had administrative responsibility for the Center of Excellence for the Elimination of Health Disparities and the Rams Know H.O.W. Her responsibilities included oversight of educational programs in clinical laboratory science, exercise physiology, health care management, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy and rehabilitation counseling. Prior to her role as Interim Chancellor, Valentine served as the dean of the School of Health Sciences at Winston-Salem State University (WSSU). She is a Paul Harris Fellow for Rotary in Winston-Salem. ![]() Other service includes board membership with the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions, the National Society of Allied Health, SciWorks and others. She has served on the boards of Novant Health, the North Carolina Center for Public Policy Research and the Consortium on International Management Policy and Development. She is the founding editor-in-chief for the Journal of Best Practices in Health Professions Diversity. She has published in refereed journals, textbooks and manuals. Valentine's area of research specialization is homeless and minority health issues. She is a fellow of the Association of Schools of Allied Health Professions, and the Howard University Faculty Senate honored her for "Outstanding Contributions to the African Diaspora." Valentine is listed in Who's Who of American Women and was honored as Educator of the Year by the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Valentine received her doctorate in education from Virginia Tech University and Master of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from Howard University. Valentine was appointed Interim Chancellor of Fayetteville State University on July 15, 2019. The parade will be held October 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. Interim Fayetteville State University (FSU) Chancellor Peggy Valentine will be the Grand Marsal for the 2019 Homecoming Parade.
